Just came back from a yet another tour. As usual – fantastic people and fantastic wildlife. I love my job! The weather was just perfect. We saw all there was to see and a lot more (incl. a Lynx!).
We started off with a boat cruise and saw several Beavers really close plus amazing fish – Ide, Bream and Sander. This was followed by several Elk (Moose), 9 White-tailed Eagles, Osprey, Red-footed Falcons, brilliant Tawny Owl, Whooper Swans, Great-Grey Shrikes, Caspian and White-winged Terns to mention just a few highlights.
In the Białowieża Forest we had excellent views of Lesser and Greater Spotted Eagles, Pygmy Owls, Black, White-backed, Three-toed and Middle Spotted Woodpeckers, Nutcracker, Red-breasted Flycatcher, 2 herds of Bison as well as Wild Boar. The highlights were also 4 Bison seen at breakfast right from our hotel restaurant and the experience of tracking a Lynx for more than 1 km one early morning, that finished with 4 people actually having a glimpse of this super elusive predator!
I didn’t have my camera out at all times so just a small selection of photographs this time, enjoy!:
Also – take a look at the short video of Cranes migrating over Białowieża Forest that I took on our last evening there. We heard them bugling (?) and seen them overhead every day. Volume up!
