Bison Safari in the Białowieża Forest, a short video

Please enjoy a short video of a Bison herd we saw on our last Primeval Forest and Marshes Tour in August 2016.

There they were, a herd of huge, wild European Bison feeding quietly at the edge of the forest in the delicate mist and the rising sun. It was a mixed herd of cows with calves but a few large bulls were already with them, suggesting it was a breeding behaviour. Together with them, we watched an adult Lesser Spotted Eagle perched up and hunting once in a while. We have spent a good hour or so with them and watched them slowly disappear back in the woods when the sun came up. It was a spectacular sighting but it wasn’t over yet…
