Finally, you will board our stable, flat bottomed wooden boat for an hour long cruise in the Beaver’s land.
We offer comfortable accommodation at a wooden guesthouse in the heart of the Biebrza National Park, gorgeous food and most importantly – quality wildlife guiding. We have had fantastic Beaver sightings on all our previous trips and have seen Elks (Moose) on many of them.
There will also be enough free time to use at your leisure or just chill out in the garden. Finally, the eastern Polish traditional landscape with colourful meadows, small wooden houses will surely add a unique taste to this holiday.

Arrival at Warsaw and transfer to the Biebrza Marshes
Pick up from your hotel in Warsaw or Chopin Airport Okecie (WAW) at 13.00 at the latest and transfer to the Biebrza Marshes. After ca. 3 hrs drive we will check in at a cosy guesthouse in the Dobarz village, in the heart of the Biebrza National Park.
After a hearty Polish dinner the guide will introduce you to the area over a map and you will have a chance to experience the wilderness and tranquility of this place during a short evening walk.
Hot air balloon flight
One dawn or dusk of our stay in the marshes (carefully chosen for best weather and light conditions) we will meet our balloon crew and go for a flight over the marshes for breathtaking scenery. Run by the champion of Poland in ballooning, our local crew are a certified Air Transport Operator with plenty of experience in flying over the vast marshes and forests of Eastern Poland.
You will spend a good hour in the air with breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs. It is an unforgettable adventure.
In the afternoon we will go for an Elk (Moose) safari driving and walking through the woods and vast fens in the heart of the Biebrza National Park. There are over 800 Elks living in the wild here and we have probably the best local knowledge on where to find them. Depending on the season, weather and wildlife conditions we may transfer in our minibus through the marshes in a more safari style as well as go for a longer walk or a few short walks.
We may see individual Elk bulls and females with calves. Seeing Elks is not guaranteed but we have seen them on majority of our previous trips and had some really close views. Other wildlife possible to see include Roe Deer, Red Fox or Racoon Dogs. Occasionally we have even heard Wolves howling early morning on this trip!
Biebrza National Park guided tour
This morning (after the usual plentiful breakfast) we will invite you for a guided tour around the best sites of the Biebrza National Park. Our guide will offer the best destination fitted to the current season. It can be a Wolf tracking experience (there are four packs of Wolves in the Biebrza!), birdwatching for some local rarities, visiting a raised bog with insectivorous Sundews as well as more Elk spotting at several vantage points with a fantastic view or even a combination of the above.
Our expert guide will make it a memorable and enlightening excursion covering not only wildlife but local traditions, architecture and turbulent history as well! At some point, we shall have our lunch at the river bank, overviewing a vast area. We should finish on time for an earlier dinner and in the afternoon, we will invite you for a boat cruise along the river watching Beavers, our famous Beaver Boat trip.
Beaver watching boat trip
This evening we will set off for a boat trip to watch Beavers. We will start with a short drive and a walk into the Beavers habitat where you may see their impressive lodge, the dam and much of their evidence like cut and fallen trees while our experienced guide introduce you to the Beavers fascinating biology.
When the time is right, still before sunset, we will board our stable flat-bottomed boat for a gentle cruise down the river. You will spend a good hour or more on the water having chances to spot several Beavers as they swim across the river, get out to the shores grooming their fur and feed on twigs. We have run this very popular trip for several years now and never missed a Beaver sight!
Warsaw Old Town
This morning, after our last substantial breakfast (don’t worry, you will get used to it by the end of the holiday) we will set off for a ca. 3 hours journey back to Warsaw.
We plan to arrive at Warsaw by 12:00, have a short walk in the Old Town and sit at a small restaurant for a traditional Polish lunch.
Around 16:00 we will drop you off at a hotel, if you stay in Warsaw or drive you to the WAW airport. Participants book a hotel or flights back home at their own expense.
Just a short video from our Beaver Safari and a sample of photographs from our previous trips to give you an idea of what it’s like here.

A fantastic evening seeing Beavers close up from a boat. It was mind-blowing.

After a few days in Warsaw, we wanted to know something about the wild life in eastern Poland. We chose the 4 day Beaver & Elk Safari Tour with Wild Poland organisation after reading the excellent reviews about it.
With our guide, Lucasz, my husband and I visited a lot of nice places! We enjoyed very much several walks in the beautiful nature of Poland. We had great moments of spotting the star of Biebrza Marshes: the Elk, but not only… we could also see foxes, a mink, many birds like cranes or eagles…
I especially remember an evening walk in the forest, hearing the deers in the dark, and suddenly discovering a couple of immobile elks close to us… Lucasz spotted them!
Finally, the beaver trip on the river, in a boat under the moon light was just amazing! Lucasz is a real professional of nature. The Hotel Dwór Dobarz and its food was also very good.
We highly recommend this company!
